Jets gets two future super stars

Jets GM Mika Laakso surprised everyone on first day of draft. He was expected to move higher in the draft to get SuperFinns Patrik Laine and/or Jesse Puljujarvi, but Laakso kept his 4th and 5th picks without even trying to move up. Ok, then everybody was so sure that third SuperFinn Olli Juolevi would be taken, but Laakso surprised and left Juolevi fall to 9th.

But GM Laakso is a very happy man now: "Yes, there was great young Finns, but I think we got what we needed most with our picks. Matthew Tkachuk and Pierre-Luc Dubois are great forward prospects and kind of forwards I like" said Laakso. "And let's not forget Brett Howden, who we picked 18th overall. He will be very important part of our future too." Laakso continues.

Jets were very active at the draft, having three picks in both rounds at first day. And they already picked twice in round three and have still two another picks is same round. "Yes, our prospect pool has not been wide enough and we wanted to get many prospects and build a new and stronger franchise with these youngsters. Our team is and will be quite young for next 2-3 years, but then these kids should be league elite players and we shall be a top team in OTHL!" Laakso tells.
